Coming to the end

So its come to this…April’s coming to an end and Summer right around the corner! But first…

The Review is on April 14th, and I’m getting done with all my work for that. Thankfully and about time, because I’ve been working on it for a while now! The Review for Graphic Designers tests you on your presentation skills and shows you where you are as a Designer and if you are capable to handle the professional level!. I am a bit worried but not too much. I have to be up in front of 3 professors, and talk about my work and why did what I did. Now I love talking, one of my favorite things to do. So I’m not too too worried about it.

After that its on to the Clipper Cruise! This is always a fun and this year it falls on one of my good friends, Nikki’s birthday! So we will be celebrating that after the cruise after some hardcore dancing. And I’m talking hardcore, such as the Robot, the Treadmill and the ever popular Solja Boy!

This weekend is a work weekend though. Finishing up some projects and making sure I have my review things in order and locked and ready to roll! And maybe a paper or two along with it. GOD I can’t wait till the summer though.

Well that’s all for now! I’ll see you guys later!

Spring Break

Spring Break!!!! YEAH!

So last week was Spring Break. Well much needed for me. After doing 120 Logos in a matter of 2 days and a few other projects, a week off was necessary. It was a lot of fun. It was good to see the “Gang” (haha) after 2 months. Saturday was laid back of just playing some cards with Bharat, Bobby, Arjun, and Navs. Since they had school I couldn’t see them during the week so me and Aslam hung out causing some havoc here and there. The usual amount of chaos, like sneaking out of his house, ‘cause neither of us are supposed to be there. The week ended with a get together at Bob’s house and relaxing, with Bob, Nate, Bharat, Karthik, Meetal, Aslam and myself. We started the night with some good Mexican Food and drive back to Bobby’s place, and playing Halo 3, Ping Pong, and Madden till about 3 in the morning. I did get some sleep, but not too much. The next morning was also much of the same, Halo, Food (a lot of that), and Ping, but not so much of the Pong. After that, Saturday was spent at a Birthday for my friend Disha, who is a freshman in high school. It was a fun filled evening, getting lost on our way home and almost hitting a car. Good Times!

Back on the Work Horse....

So it’s been a month into the new semester and the new projects are piling up. First in my Intro to Graphic Design class, we are making a brochure for the Gestalt principles. We had to come up with our own Icons displaying the principle in action, and a photograph doing the same, and a paragraph “Defining” the term as well. I decided to do a booklet, which isn’t completed just yet but I’m getting there. This is going to take a while considering I have a lot to do still, like retaking all photographs…and reprinting and what not....But hey, that what the weekend is there for…

But with all this work I haven’t forgotten about fun. My friends from home came down today! We met a few people and went out to TGI Fridays!! WE came back and went over to West Campus and threw the ol’ pig skin around. After that they left, but I get to see them in 3 weeks anyways.

Last but not least, there is an open mic night coming up at LaRoche, which I am hoping to perform in. It is on February 21st so clear your calendars.
Alright, it’s back to Gestalt!

Two Goofs

Christmas Break was very fun this year. I enjoyed time with family and friends and didn’t work. Which may or may not be a good thing...Mainly I hung out with Sam, who is like my brother, so every time I see him, we cause some sort of mayhem. Misadventure you may call it. I went to see I Am Legend with him and few other friends at Pittsburgh Mills, and I drove there with him. We goofed for a while before. The next time I saw him was at Christmas. It was my first Christmas at his place and it was awesome! We watched a few movies and played a few video games. And what Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a movie about Aliens vs. Predator. Oh Yes! Our celebration of Christmas ended with some people getting torn apart and such on the big screen. I met up with Sam for coffee as well. At this time I forgot I left my camera in the car and he took some pics while I was driving and he found places to keep the camera and it was mayhem. Surprisingly, we made it out okay…haha. New Years Eve and New Years Day was the last time I hung out with Sam. I went over and played a few games and danced to “She moves her Body Like a Cyclone”. We celebrated his brother’s birthday and had some cake.

The rest of the time was spent with some friends at home. My best Aslam went off to India. But I still had a few of the “Gang” to spend break with. A sleepover here and there and a visit to the school, and of course we went out for dinner.

Of course there was family, my mum, dad and the thing I call my sister. I treated all of them to a Movie, Charlie Wilson’s War, and some Ice Cream at Coldstone. We spent the rest of the time watching movies and goofing around the house.

Lastly, I had a show this time around. My parents or friends couldn’t be there but I got one of my greatest fans/friend to tape the show. It was the best to date. I had the material down, and I knew exactly what to say. I’d like to call that show “Krish ‘Raman Noodles’ Mohan: A Krishmas Holiday Special (Live at the Coffee Den)”. It was performed on December 28th 2007. I am hoping to have a few shows up at LaRoche. Recently I’ve redistributed my CD called “Reach for the Mic” which seems to be a big hit.
That’s all for now. Hopefully I will have more news about my Stand UP. In the mean time I’ve still got my Designs to keep my very very happy.

Finals....blah!

Hello again all! Its been a hectic few days with final projects and what not, but I’m slowly recovering from the work load. Fortunately it is Christmas time so I’m getting really excited for that! I love giving out presents and seeing the smile on everyone faces when they get exactly what they want! And ,I don’t mind getting a few presents myself…haha. Christmas is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I’m getting ready for break and have a few things to do over that. First off I need to fix up some of my designs; they need modified and re-worked. The second thing I have to do is find a job. Hopefully I will be employed over break to help out my bank account. On that note I will bid everyone fine farewell, and wish all you out there a Fun, Exciting and Safe Christmas!

Meet Ramakrishnan (Krish) !!

Hello Friends! My name is Ramakrishnan Mohan, but you can call me Krish for short! I am a proud Sophomore Graphic Design Student here at LaRoche College. I really love the Graphic Design program and am very excited to continue my education here at LaRoche College. I’ve been drawing since 7th grade, and really got into it in High School. My Art Teacher always pushed me to do more than I could, so that’s what I try to do in my design work is push myself to newer heights. I was born in India, but have been here for 10 years. I attended High School at Chartiers Valley High School, out in Bridgeville. I also do some Stand-Up Comedy and am looking to get my foot in that door as well. I started doing Stand-Up in my junior year of High School and have been consistent and have my own CD that a friend of mine recorded for me. I hope this gives you a little insight on me and who I am and I look forward to posting more blogs for all you guys out there!!
